Hello all,
Just a few quick notes on what is happening at present with
Linuxha.net. In summary - quite a lot!
Currently there are _three_ different versions lying around:
1.0.6 - the production/stable version. I've fixed a few minor bits here
and this will become 1.0.7 shortly.
1.1.01 - the first beta release of the the 1.1 series. This is the
version which is an evolution of 1.0.x series but includes new features
and so is deemed to require a different version. When classed as
"production ready" it will be become 1.2.x. The beta is now available
via the web and a howto is also available via the "resources" link on
the front page describing how to update.
A full document describing the differences between 1.0.x and 1.1.x will
be written soon.
2.0.x - under heavy development, prototyping and experimentation. Many,
many significant enhancements - 2+ nodes (no upper limit defined -
though likely to be 16-32 nodes), RSA encryption between nodes, easier
configuration, event handling (for SNMP / alerting integration),
multiple protocol support for storage - shared and local storage
protocols are likely to be supported - even in the same cluster...
So a very busy time - I've written 8,000+ lines of code for 2.0.x and
the intention remains to have something out in a rough form later this
year.
Regards,
Simon.
