[Linuxha-users] MySQL and LDAP on the same server

Hi Simon,

I have a MySQL linuxha.net server, where I setup the shared storage on the
following mount point:

/mysql

The LV I created for this mount point was a 10Gb XFS volume, while leaving
about 90Gb unallocated on the VG (the VG is using all the space on two 100Gb
drives in a Linux Software RAID mirror).

I'd like to now setup LDAP on this linuxha cluster, how would you recommend I
do this?

I'd like to do it by creating an independent LDAP application, and an LV of
say, 1Gb in size using the same VG above (I have no choice but to use the same
VG above as it's taking up the entire disk partition), but I believe the way
linuxha works is being enabling and disabling the VG when failing over, so I
don't think that would be feasible?

If that isn't feasible, then the only option I can see is by creating the LDAP
database within the /mysql directory and modifying the mysql startup script to
also startup OpenLDAP? but doing this means there's no independent application.

Your advice is appreciated.

Michael.
